Scrum Master Training
The Scrum Master training begins by developing a deep understanding of Agile and Scrum with focus on the underlying values and principles. This sets the foundations for learning how to then apply Scrum in order to create high performing teams. This training provides an excellent opportunity to learn how to become a great Scrum Master by experiencing it in action, and at the same time, service of the Team, the Product Owner and the whole organisation.
Scrum is easily understood but difficult to apply because it requires a change in habits and to think differently about how daily work is completed. Therefore this interactive workshop is structured around a simulation in which the attendees collaborate in teams to build a new product. Learning is achieved through a mix of theoretical topics and hands on experience, all conducted in a safe environment where learning from mistakes is encouraged.
This course covers the core learning objectives to become a great Scrum Master, but also provides opportunity for deeper conversations led by the questions and challenges class participants raise.
The key topics covered in the class include:
How Lean thinking and Agility principles connect to Scrum
The Scrum Team
Servant Leadership and Agile Coaching
Coaching the Scrum Team including the Product Owner
Coaching beyond the team
All the ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective, Refinement)
Product backlog and product backlog items
Definition of Done and Ready
Sprint, Sprint Planning and Sprint Backlog
A full simulation and experience of Scrum in action
This class is delivered using techniques from Accelerated Learning and Training for the Back of the Room which maximises the retention of the participants. This training is not a lecture format, where a teacher talks and participants listen, it is a fully immersive and interactive 2-day learning experience.
